
Dr. Heather Goodman, MD
Dr. Goodman is double-Board certified in Psychiatry & Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. At Goodman Wellness, her private practice, she treats patients across a wide range of psychiatric needs, and specializes in ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders, eating disorders, and treating children with complex medical issues. She also serves on the voluntary faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine, where she supervises and teaches medical students, psychiatry residents and fellows, and is an active member of AACAP.
Before founding Goodman Wellness, Dr. Goodman was an Assistant Professor at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine. There, she worked on the pediatric consultation-liason service and the pediatric emergency room, partnering with other physicians across the hospital to provide integrated care in complex situations. During this time, she also maintained a faculty practice, treating children, teens and adults with a range of psychiatric needs, and supervised residents and child psychiatry fellows.
Dr. Goodman has been recognized with multiple awards for her dedication to patient-centered care and presented at national conferences on treating children with complex medical and psychiatric diagnoses. She has been featured on multiple school and professional panels discussing parenting strategies and mental wellness.
Dr. Goodman graduated from Brown University with a degree in Comparative Literature and received her M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She trained in general adult psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine and completed her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital's combined program of Columbia and Cornell Universities. During fellowship, she was honored to receive the Edward J. Sachar Award for clinical excellence.
